Launching a boat with a 700XP
Ooh, I like these new boards.
We just got an XP. I would say that it would really depend on the boat ramp. If it's fairly steep or slick, I'd give it a second thought -- like mentioned above, you'd likely end up launching the whole rig. But if it's a fairly modest slope with decent traction, I'd give it a try. Also, what kind of boat are we talking about here? A little bass fisher would be fine I'd say, but if you're trying to get your Cabo into the river I'd grab a lawn chair and a coke to watch .
I just launched our jet ski with ours (I know, very different weight) and it was fine. Our lake has an extremely hard to use launch. It's a little wider than a four wheeler trail, washed out gravel and probably about a 35 degree angle. Anyone who launches a real boat with a truck is careful to have another vehicle right nearby incase it gets bad.
For your boat, maybe try pulling it around a bit first with the ranger. Try backing up and slamming on the brakes, see how well the ranger holds up to the weight of the boat.
IMO, I'd maybe attach the winch for safety and give it a try. If you start to slide right down, lesson learned. Plus, then we'd all know too .
