Default Xtreme products lift kit for sportsman

I'm thinking of getting the lift kit from Xtreme products for my 800. Does anybody have any experience? Do you think i'm asking for trouble lifting the beast? I don't want to create issues.

Also, anybody have a snorkeled recovery tank cap? I've seen them on a website and it looks like you can do it yourself. I guess it helps prevent mud and gunk getting sucked through that little hole on top of the red cap.

Appreciate the feedback fellas.

My Xtreme lift should be in any day now. I'm going with the Gorilla axles in the front to start with and see how the stock axles hold up in the back.

It's easy to snorkel the recovery tank cap. I used a Zerk fitting with the check ball removed, just drill the cap and self tap the Zerk in, slip some tubing on and route it to the headlight pod. Did you snorkel your 03 700?

No, i only put tires on it. I didn't mess with anything else. It seems that all the lifts for the Sportsman involve shaving away some of the knuckle so it doesn't hit the cv boot or something. Is this bad?

Yea, it takes a bit of messing around to ensure the boot don't rub on the strut, but I'm in it this far so I'm going for it. I also have EPI springs for the front, so I'm going Gorillas cause the fronts going to be up there as far as 2" lifts are concerned.

Bigger tires might be the best bet for your 800, unless you like to tinker and spend money on axles.

I've got bi and tri claws on it. Those are the most awesome tire for this bike. It's been unstoppable through the nasty stuff. THe only thing that stops it is getting high centered.

O.K. it looks like it's a lift for you, if you want to take it to the next level. I feel the Xtreme lift is one of the best 2" lifts out there. The stock axles are at thier limit with a 2" lift but if you take it easy you'll be good for a while, but you will have to grind the struts to clear the CV boots.

I got the 27" Claws. Those tires on a sportsman are awesome.
