2000 Sportsman 500 No 4x4 in reverse
Just picked up this 2000 Sportsman 500. It runs and drives great but the four wheel drive doesn't work in reverse. The 4wd works just fine in forward. The speedometer doesn't work. Pressing the override button has no effect.
I'm new to this forum. Any help would be appreciated.
Also looking for advice on the best exhaust, jet kit, and aftermarket clutch kit combination to run with 26" tires. Where's the best deal for cast aluminum wheel and mud tire kits?
Thanks

I had the same problem with my 2000 sp 500, can not remember if it did not work in reverse. If the lights and hour meter still work I would try a new speedo sensor it is located on the front right tire.It is much cheaper then a new speedo, up here in canada it was about 100.00 bucks. Right now Iam running Dalton clutch kit and FMF megamax exhaust sounds healthy not sure if it does anything the clutch kit works good.

Thanks for the advice. The odometer and the light still work so I'll look into pricing a speedo sensor at the dealer. If I need to bypass it, how do I go about it. I noticed there are two plugs going into the back of the speedo with a total of 9 different wires.
