Default GPS Mounts

Hey guys, I went to bass pro today to get a Bushnell backtrack, which basically tells you which way to go, and how far you are away from the point you first marked, that was $69, and when I was looking, I found the Garmin etrex Legend, that is a whole lot more, for only $99, but anyways, I'm going to need a mount, are RAM mounts still the best way to go?

Also if anyone has any pics of their GPS's mounted on their atv's please post them up

Thanks alot guys

Howdy 700 sportsman.....I have had very good luck with the RAM mounts.....big selection of mounting options. I use RAM mounts for my Garmin GPS and iPhone. I chose to put them on the headlight pod to keep them as close to center as practical.....NoJoke

RAM mount is the best way to go. No question about that.

Default Handle bar mount

I have a SP 700, and SP500 with Garmin handlebar mounts on both. They work very well. I have had a Garmin etrex Vista, and now a 60csx.

Well, I saw the garmin, and since the garmin mount replaces the back cover, and all that vibration on that little pin that holds the door on, kinda makes me wonder, what happens when the holder for that pin busts, I guess your SOL'

I like the total surround of the RAM much better

Keep the pics comin guys, P.S. I'd like to see an etrex with a ram or garmin mount

NoJoke, I like your center POD GPS mount setup! Is that the RAM mount piece on the POD housing that is held with the original center screw or did you fab a mount to work with the RAM mount?

Tipo176 (little off topic sorry!), I like you gauges on the POD housing, is that factory or did you like add the High-temp gauge in the spare hole spot on the POD housing? Also, is that a manual Fuel gauge cap I see for your sportsman? Where do you get them? I would like that as a backup for my electronic speedo fuel gauge. Case in point when I got in the accident and cracked my speedo, what was ridable to get down the mountain didn't do me any favors not knowing if I was going to run out of gas (took a wrong turn and had to ride out a 18mile trail connector, LOL.)

Thanks,

R'

Can't beat the iPhone for GPS....

I bought an App called MotionX GPS, and it now use real life Google Imagery.

Or, you can use the Maps mode from the phone to see exactly where you are at with the Location Services.
