Never noticed but could be a misprint and 2w50 instead? 0w40 is a good all around weight that most use. Some even use 5w40,5w50 or even heavy weight oil in hot climates.

I use 0w-40 it work great that odd ball weight is just a cash grab because Polaris only offers it and do not want you to go to aftermarket.

At one time 0w-40 was all Polaris had and now its not good enough? Yeh right.

Wouldn't over look a good quality oil like this also. Many people down here use it in cycles and atvs. Plus for the price you can't beat it at least down here in Texas. Cheaper by the quart or even by the gallon than most other synthetics and jaso rated for cycles and doesn't have friction modifiers that can harm wet type clutches.Shell Rotella Full Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil, 1 gal. - Walmart.com Plus several recommendations like from this guy. Plus I have it my old Honda.

Very Good Motorcycle Oil

Rotella T-6 is a sleeper in the motorcycle world. I have run it in an XR250 dirt bike off road (which is a serious test of how it works in a wet clutch.), a Honda VFR800 sport bike and a Honda Shadow cruiser. Zero problems or issues of any kind. Blackstone lab analysis showed a very good additive package and essentially zero wear after a hard run in the sport bike. This oil is JASO MA rated for wet clutches. The price is a bargain relative to "motorcycle oils". Being a 5W-40 this oil starts easier in cold weather than petro oils. I also use it in a generator and my gas powered pick up truck. This is possibly the most versatile motor oil made. Excellent stuff. (No... I don't work for Shell oil !!)

Yup - great oil! I run it on both my sporties, honda mower, 4runner, bmw. Its an HDEO engineered for diesels - so it keeps things clean in the dirtiest of engines. Less than $20 at wallyworld for 4 qts. Luck! :cowboy:

One thing about 0w-40 is I think it only comes in synthetic not conventional.

I use Amsoil 0w-40 and its even good for wet clutches as well.
