Bearings, how do they look

I'm on that forum too. That's where I saw the bearing greaser
I wasn't sure about posting a link to another forum.

It's ok I guess.haven't heard any complaints as such..I've seen some of my posts on forums I don't even belong to.. From what I understand Timken doesn't make a cross reference(or folks haven't found one yet) on this bearing and that either oem or all All ***** are what most people settle on for the most part.If the bearing greaser makes sense to you then go for it.

I've messed around on this forum and MWQ even chimes in.
I'm admin on a motorcycle forum and very lenient and expect the same,
but I go on some forums and you can't post this or you can't say that and then I get in trouble.
I'll take out one bearing and see if I should just buy a new bearing or get the greaser
Thanks for the help

lol post #18 is what my bearings looked like on my 550xp !! well ebing labor day weeeknd and having already planned to go to our camp and ride i promptly loaaded the rears up with grease and reinstalled everything and rode it fine all weekend. it prolly rode better with having grease in them then they have in a year or more! I purchesed new bearings from All ***** and should be here in a week.
Are they easy to knock out and tap back in? any special tools required?
the machine is a 2010 550XP

Just need a big pair of snap ring pliers and either remove the bearing on top of a vice or blocks of wood. Place the new bearing in the freezer while you heat the hub up with a propane torch. Easy to knock out the bearing from the inside slots with an air impact.Drop the new bearing in from the front of the hub and replace the snap ring. Good heavy gloves are recommended also.

aaaaahhhh air impact...good idea! better than a hammer and punch...effective but air tools would be more efficient. and the heat and cool idea...i will definitely do that part. i see where they are a "split" bearing. will they come apart to make sure they are packed full of grease or is it best to not try and open them up prior to installation...if one could even open them up.
I looked at the Two Guys Hobby greaser thing...pretty slick idea to keep your bearings greased if they are not serviceable like old school tapered roller bearings in cars where you can easily pack them by hand...wasn't sure if these are "serviceable" until they get to a point where they come apart on there own! which is genreally bad by that time.
