Default New Tires.

After 5,400km/3,375 miles it was time for new rubber.

Bought a set of Traxion Grippers from 2Koolperformance. Traxion is a Canadian company, with the way our dollar is going, it made sense.

They are 25/8/12 & 25/10/12 6 ply with 7/8" lugs. Will get them mounted next week and post more pics.

Look a lot like bighorns. Should be a good wearing tire and definitely a step up from the stock tires.

The Bighorns are known for their long tread life so if these are similar, they should last a long time too. Are they radials? I guess they probably would have specified in the description but some tires don't. That would probably add to their durability and also ride quality.

They are Bias ply, not spending $600 on tires for my ATV. If they last as long as the 489's, I'll be happy. They should no doubt .

They should last as long as the 489's and perform much better. 489's are ok stock tires much like the stock Dunlap tires Yamaha uses but don't offer much traction on anything other than hard packed trails. The only good thing is they last a long time. These should last a long time and give you better traction. Sounds like a win-win to me.

They look like good tires. The Bighorn-type tread pattern must work pretty good or there wouldn't be a half dozen copies of them. How much did they cost?

$428, shipping was free.

The original BH set a standard that many follow.

Got them mounted, what a huge difference!

Any idea what the offset is on the factory steel wheels?
