lt230s need help
I had the same problem with the shifter on my first ATV , a 1986 Honda TRX 350 Foreman 4x4 the foot shifter was loose on the shift rod coming out of the gear box ; the bolt that tighten's the clamp was as tight as it could be ! But shifter was still loose on shift shaft rod , what i had to do was to remove bolt from the foot shifter ; then remove the foot shifter ! Then i took my 4 and 1/2 in. hand held grinder , and clamp the foot shifter in a vise and with the grinder ; i ground the center part that clamp's the foot shifter to the shift rod ! I ground about 1 quarter in. to widen the gap in the clamp part of the foot shifter , then i put the shifter back on the shift rod ; put the bolt back in hole and tightened it back down ! I never had to touch it again, it was as good as new , i hope this help's it's the only way i could get it to clamp tight enough to hold ; but that did the job ! On the paint removal from the wheel's , you can get some paint remover at Auto Zone it come's in a small plastic bottle i can't remember what it's called but it's some kind of jelly you paint it on ; wait 15 to 30 minute's and then wash it off with a water hose ! This stuff is real expensive , and i'm sure you could find something that cost less to remove paint ; but this stuff will take it off fast ! williebee
