2000 hours on king quad 450

The 450 will stand high mileage and hours, if it wasn't for the poor quality frame it would be one of the most reliable quads out there. I don't know what snow ploughing would do to the frame but check the bottom longtitudinal tubes. The first place they go is just behind the mounting brackets for the rear anti roll bars but, on hard worked bikes, they follow this up with cracking either side of where the foot pegs are fastened on and then behind the front lower A arm mountings. Nothing that can't be fixed with a welder. The fuel gauge sender is also poor, so check that is working, could be a bargaining chip if it isn't. If the frame is sound, I would go for it, for a smooth ride, adequate power and engine/gearbox reliability they are hard to beat. That "wet" rear brake is the best out there too.

How much is he asking for it? Low retail is $2395 according to NADA. That's not including any extras like a winch or plow. The high hours I believe lower the value somewhat. That's how many hours a machine with 10,000 miles or more would normally have. If the seller is asking a reasonable amount, its worth looking at. $2500 or less sounds reasonable to me.

I guess the point is, its a lot of hours lol. Probably a lot of them in low range and 4x4 pushing a plow. Those are not gentle hours. Even if the owner did keep up on the maintence, it has been worked hard. I believe this should reflect in the asking price. It would be similar to buying a truck that was used to pull a heavy trailer regularly as opposed to one that never towed anything.
