j_mauld, what brand of kill switch did you use? I am online ordering one for my kids 2004 LT80 and it asks if the circuit is normally closed or normally open. I'm unsure how the kill switch on these work, normally closed or normally open on the lt80?

I'm thinking open.
When the tether is pulled it grounds the ignition.
Get a pro-design. The best IMO.
The tethers with the rubber top don't work well especially long term.

thanks LT80, I will be buying a pro design and they don't ask to specify closed or open for that model anyways so it makes it easy. Now just need to get a new throttle limiter screw since the previous owner had it completely removed. This little bike moves pretty well and my newbie 8 and 9 year old boys have some learning to do.
