Sounds like a common problem that many efi machines have had on not being able to idle or has an erratic idle, back firing, etc are some of the symptoms of a faulty tbap connector or wiring harness.Plus a lot of times codes may nor be shown or if they do codes 41,45 or 46 may show up. Like the manuals say 80% of efi problems are wiring or connector related, not sensor related problems. Read this "sticky" post that kind of sums up what many have done and one member has come up with better harness repair kits than the ones I had to install that kept failing because of thin wires and cheap connectors. https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...ap-wiring.html Here's the site for better repair kits.Only The Best Plus here's the pic of the tbap kit that people most often replaced on the 700/800 models.

Hope you narrow it down to the tbap. Sometimes you can jiggle the harness and notice a change in engine idle. This is a dead give away the harness and connector are the problem.
