Default carb 101

I've got a '00 warrior and I'm wanting to know about the carb on it. I've seen talk of moving the needle and such. what does this do and which way should it be moved? also, the air/fuel mixture screw, which way richens the mixture and which way leans it? thanks for the info

all this depends on how your bike is running. there are 5 positions on the needle. top being the leanest and bottom being the richest. i have my needle clip in the middle position, which is ideal. if you move the clip up you lower the needle making it leaner. if you move the clip down you raise the needle making it run richer.

for the air/fuel screw turning it in leans it and turning it out richens it.

thanks. I've got a k&n filter and a cobra slip on. I just put a 150 main in. its runs good but does bog some if you give it full throttle from a stand still. it also smokes a little but not much. the plug is a little black and I was just wanting to lean it out a little.

you may have to adjust your air/fuel screw a little. i also have a 150 main and a k&n on my warrior. and i have a WB e-series slip-on. my air/fuel screw right now is at 2 turns out. but it's running a little on the rich side so i still have some adjusting to do. other than that it starts right up and idels fine and the thottle response is great. so your settings should probably be close to mine. unless your exhaust calls for something else.

no idea what the exhaust called for. it was already on it when I got it. it runs great but just bogs some. if I ease into it, its fine. I know the exhaust is super loud, lol. there's no spark aresstor on it either

mine cam the same way. i bought it for 200 bucks off my uncles frined. mine does the same thing as yours. if it's ideling and i hit it quick it bogs but if i ease into it it's fine. i believe it has something to do with the accelerator pump.

I gotcha. its been a long time since I've messed with a carb. that's a good deal you got on yours. I paid $1600 for mine and so far I've got another $300 into it (new handlebars, grips, lights, fresh fluids and a skid plate). thanks for the help
