Default grizzly 600 temp light

i bought this 600 grizzly used and the previous owner wired the fan ddirect to a switch i leave on at all times. the light is wired to the fan also so i have no warning if i am overheating. is their a way to put a guage on the quad or shoot it with an infared thermometer? what would a good temp be. all the old wiring is gone so im not sure how the old sensor worked and what to get to go back to stock.

Is there a light that tells you if its hot? The fan goes on at a set temp, i don't think it waits til you overheat.

You can get a temp gauge that you put inline in your radiator hose between the water pump and radiator. These are available from just about any atv parts house or I have seen lots of them on e.bay, On a Yamaha the temp sensor should turn the fan on around 217 and it would have shut off around 190
