Re: warrior oil cooler

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have a motorcycle junk yard near by get an oil cooler from a wrecked Yamaha Bigbear. The oil filter cap has the lines coming off of it. you'll have to just get longer oil lines. and mount the cooler up front.

found this on another board will it work?

i can see why you might want one but i'm wondering if there is really a need. for one it's just extra crap that can go wrong and also i'm not sure of the set up but it could be exposed. and that would suck if a branch went through it

yeah, the aftermarket ones I have seen are alot smaller than the one on the bigbear, and bolt right under the front hood, so not to big of a chance of a limb going through it. And as far as it, I'd just like my motor to run a lil cooler in the summer.

Thats odd the a Sportier higher Out put 350 Warrior has not oil cooler and my old lower powed 89 350 4x4 Bigbear has one? They both use the same 348 motor that has been around for years and still is found on the 350 briun/grizzly and 350 Raptor.

My Big Bear oil cooler was not fan assist so it would be easy to install and has nothing to fail,it was only like 3"x9" in size. I bet the larger coolers found on a 400 BigBear or newer 350 Grizzly would fit also.

I agree, But as far as higher out put, it isn't just diffrent tranny gearing and diffrent case, but other than that they are the same top end. My only question is the oil filter cover for the bigbear the same bolt pattern as the warrior, if so it will work, and will proabably be my next upgrade.

I would just look at the different ATVs schematics at Bike Bandit to see what oil filters are the same.

I know the Warrior had a larger carb than a Big Bear maybe it had other upgrades over a Bigbear like hotter cam or compress ratio?
