Default 2004 Yamaha Warrior grinding sound

When I go riding on my warrior and it get warmed up at a certain rpm this grinding sound comes from the stator side of the motor, not sure what it is if anyone can tell me. It'll do it if your moving or even if its in neutral and you rev it. If anyone knows what it is please let me know.

Thanks, Brandon

Pretty typical for Warriors,.. the sound is from the starter clutch. You should have it checked out as soon as you can because its common for it to cause stator and flywheel damage if the bearing comes apart.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm hoping to fix it myself, will i have to replace the whole starter clutch? Why does that make the sound, wouldn't it only do that when its starting?
