Default 04 yfz 450 gytr

Ok so I have an 04 yfz 450 gytr model. This bike starts great. Runs great. Everything is awesome except one thing. The top speed on it is like 50-55. It seems to top out To soon but is has no problems with Ripping through gears like a champ. Here's the modes it's has

T4 pro circuit exhaust system
Boysen quick shot on carb
14/38 gearing
20x10-09 rear tires. 22 on front

Motor never over heats. Engines runs very quite.

So....what's causing this. The owner I bought it from said he never got the carb timing set on the quick shot. Doesn't sputter pop, runs perfect.

Stock sprockets..Stock tire size...That doesn't make since.

The '04's and maybe '05's had a bit of different transmission gearing i believe. They are lower geared. 2nd on the 04's are like 1st on the 06's and any year TRX however, i can hit 70 no problem. You sure your topped out? You'll hit the rev limiter if she's topping out.

50-55 is a happy RPM level if you ask me, anything much over it feels your pushing it.

pretty sure im about topped...i think. i afraid to hit the rev limiter if its not topped then im sure 60 is as far as it will go. it runs awesome, every now and then it will bog if its stopped to hammering it wide open, but thats rare if it does. I hear 450's have a bog problem like that and thats what the quick shot is for. the guy i bought it from said he thinks he has the jetting right and the quickshot right but he wasent for sure. i runs fantastic i just now got back from riding it in the creek and sand pit. had no issuse. just seems like im looking for another gear if im riding on the road but if im riding trails i harldey get to 5th gear. my neighbor has a 06 ltr450 and he said that hes always looking for another gear as well. im use to riding my 86 lt250r 2 stroke bored .60 over with pipe ectand that thing is fast as hell. maybe my the clutches need to be cleaned? new cdi? new plug? the guy said the plug in its so probably 2 years old and said he never had to change it. It did have new clutches put in but i dont know how long ago that was. has a new clutch cable on it. i was jacking with the cable and now idk if its adjusted properly now lol.

Ha, na I thInk that's just the 04 yfz man. Id check the plug but, sounds like its running good. Don't fix what's not broke. I believe the yfz with the dual cams is the highest rpm makIng 450. I could be wrong but i bet it has more than your thinking.

Not sure if the quick shot would solve the problem or not. Haven't looked at them. There are a few mods you can do. Truthfully I did the simple zip tie mod and it helped enough I don't much worry about it.

Go hammer down on the thing. Don't have to hit the limiter but youll get nervous at about 65
