1993 Timberwolf No spark
My son was running this for about an hour or long and shut the machine. Let it sit for a few minutes and wouldn't restart. Pulled it home and it lost spark. It doesn't have a neutral safety so it would start in gear. Tore it down and found the 3 bolts that hold the flywheel to the rotor assembly broke off. Would this cause a no spark issue? Also the stator was covered in oil.

Are you talking about the 3 starter clutch bolts backing off? Item #7,11.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Possible if any thing was able to get slung into the stator area. Not that familiar with the Timberwolf. Best to have a manual and check out the electronics.

Vibration, wear and tear of starting all these years.Plus may not have loctite or enough on the bolts. Have had that happen on several street bike starter clutches, but the didn't trash stators. I'd pull the flywheel to see if anything has gotten into the stator area or possibly damaged a pick up coil.
