2006 Arctic Cat TBX
The Arctic Cat TBX line is an ATV designed for those who demand the most features and the toughest work ethic of any ATV. The TBX models are the Arctic Cat version of a pickup truck, and their aim is to deliver the goods no matter how big the job. Yet when the workday is over, the TBX is also capable of delivering a smooth trail ride that’s just plain fun.
Both the 500 and 400 4×4 Automatic TBX feature a redesigned body and cargo box with large payload. The rear dump box off ers a 300-lb. capacity and has a “pickup style” tailgate latch, plus box tilt latches on both sides of the machine. Handy tie-down attachment points are built directly into the cargo box and TBX frame, and integrated rails accept accessory clampdown fi xtures. To top it off , Speedracks are incorporated into both the front and rear of the machine, allowing dozens of optional accessory attachments.
Hauling big payloads is easy thanks to the 400 or 500 four-stroke engines, each featuring the Duramatic automatic transmission with Hi-Lo range. The convenient, handlebar mounted, electronic 2WD/4WD switch is complemented by a full-lock front diff erential switch (500 only). Both machines also have an Auto Electronic Choke for quick and simple starting.
Several features improve comfort and convenience, including a wider seat (with a simple latch that allows quick access to a new tool storage tray), a forward-located storage box, a large 5.5-gallon rearmounted fuel tank, digital instrument pods, and a foot brake system with remote reservoir master cylinder.
For extra protection, both TBX models are equipped with a durable plastic skid plate and stick stopper CV boot protectors. For rider protection, the bodywork incorporates integrated, full-length fl oorboards and wide fenders.
The rugged TBX models are all about work with a 1,050-lb. towing capacity (with a standard 2-in. automotive-style rear receiver hitch), 100-lb. front rack capacity and 12 inches of ground clearance. Zero-maintenance suspension bushings combined with sealed drive shafts and engines translate into more time working on important projects than your ATV.
