4. Power Steering

Introduced in the 1951 Chrysler Imperial

Mini riders and featherweight race aficionados might not care about motor-assisted steering, but it’s invaluable for utility hounds and riders with an addiction to rock crawling and mud bogging.   As ATVs have grown in complexity and luxury, they’ve also gotten fat.  Heavy-steering front ends were becoming a deterrent for smaller riders who didn’t wish to get into an arm wrestling match with their machine whenever the going got rough.  Power steering immediately leveled the playing field, in addition to eliminating concerns of bump-steer (when the terrain bucks the wheels in a direction you didn’t intend) in the process.

It’s all in the twist.
