ATV Industry Facts: Did You Know?
Tax payer money put to excellent use.

Like road-going motor vehicles and boating; rules, regulations legality and location vary from state to state. Are registrations required? Do the children need proof that they have passed an approved ATV rider safety class? Do the quads need a state OHV sticker? Do your machines need to be insured? Will spark arrestors be required?

The good news is the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has a section of their site devoted specifically to ATVs that includes descriptions and requirements of public and private riding areas in most states.

Another governmental resource at our disposal is National Forests. All of the information one could need can be found at: www.fs.fed.us.

Lastly the federal Bureau of Land Management has the scoop on federal land that allows off-highway vehicle riding. To find those areas, head to www.recreation.gov.

Bonus Fact:
While these resources provide a lot of public land opportunities, some areas in the country simply have no public land for ATV use. Here, your best bet will be private riding parks where paying a fee for park upkeep and insurance is required to ride.
