Segway Enters the 2000cc SxS With New Turbo

Meet the Segway Super Villain Turbo/ Hybrid
Segway prepared to enter the upper echelon of SxS performance.

When Polaris entered the 2000cc SxS segment with the RZR Pro R (reviewed here), nothing else on the market even came close. As time goes on, though, the competition is catching up. Can-Am’s new Maverick R is attempting to generate the same type of performance via a turbo charged 1000cc package and now Segway has announced the Super Villain – a 2000cc turbo good for 235 horses.

If you’re thinking that isn’t anything you can’t already get from a RZR Pro R or Maverick R, you’re not wrong but here’s the kicker. Since the Super Villain is the last to show up to the party, Segway has the luxury of seeing where the competition comes in price wise and is hopefully able to slip in below the $44,995 MSRP of the Polaris and Can-Am.

Additionally, since the horsepower rating is on par with what Polaris is managing to do with its naturally aspirated 2000cc Pro R, we get the feeling there will be a lot of performance potential on tap for savvy tuners to unlock.

Hybrid Version

Segway will also offer a gas/ electric hybrid option mating the direct injection 2.0 liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a 70kw electric motor/ LFP battery with a 7.9kWh battery resulting in an industry leading 330hp package.
