Jetmoto 150 CVT maintenance
#1
I came across some manual describing a change of fluid in a CVT but the Jetmoto manual did not seem to cover that maintenance. Are you folks changing the fluid in it, if so any details?
Thanks

the engine oil only lubes the engine on the gy6 engine, not the transmission, the transmission uses 75-90w or 80-90w. their's a transmission drain plug on the botton towards the rear of the engine/cvt case. the fill plug is on the left side of the engine, looking at the cvt cover, look all the way to the rear of the cvt cover (it's not on the cvt cover but just aft of the cover ) just about center, you're see eaither a 8 or 10mm bolt head, i don't quite remember the size right off hand. when refilling , fill until the gear oil starts to drain back out of the filler hole, then reinstall plug. only takes about 4-5oz of gear oil.

Hey luvmysxs I will have a look at my 2007 jet 150 again. I was thinking I must be missing something here with this trans oil. As I can see the drain plug but the fill plug was not as clear.

I didnt discover the cvt gear oil until we bent the output shaft on my Yamoto 150. I then changed the gear oil in my Jetmoto 150 too. This was about 6 mos after getting the Jetmoto 150. I used some 80wt-90 GL5 gear oil I had laying around. It looked much better than the fluid that came out.

The CVT must be pretty tough and durable as I bet many, like most, of them have not had there oil changed out. I sure plan to change gear oil in the JM 150 before the next ride. Just wish it was better documented in the MFG documents.

Hey I took a quick look and on the left side (side of the ctv cover) there is no bolt to be found. Maybe on this one the cover has to come off. I took some pics I'll post later.

Ok I was looking on the side of the case as I thought it was one of those where you fill it up till its level with the hole. I wonder how much oil it takes if you just fill it from the top like that?
