Default 2007 GIO Beast rear shocks Help!!

I searched the site and din't find another thread on it, So I'll start one. The performance shocks for the front right from GIO are great. No complaints here about them. The ones for the rear however........ I purchased two sets as the first was so stiff, i thought it had to be defective. However the second one was just slightly less stiff. So I would like to retrofit in one from some pother manufacturer. The stock shocks are 12" in length eye to eye, so any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum dcschneider!

Back in 2004 and 2005 ALL Chinese ATV's had stiff suspension... A lot of people were buying LT 160 shocks... I looked around for a while and what was nice on ebay... a lot of people would lay the shock next to a ruler so you could see how long it was... Id do a search on ebay and see what you can find..

Hey, I have a 2008 Gio Beast with the performance shocks all round, the rear was stiff too, I retrofitted the spring from the original rear shock to fit the upgraded shock, had to grind some of the inside of the spring off because the shock part of the upgraded part is a larger diameter. It is still alittle stiffer that I would like, it is stiffer than the front, but alot better. Do you have a problem with the front being too soft? I can bottom out my front bumper on trails, which I have done a few times on the weekend when I went out with a buddy, I think I will try to move the shocks to the inner mounting holes on the a airms, it will raise the suspension up, but it may make it even softer, so I may have to play with preload.

Yeah I moved my fronts in and stiffened the spring tension with the adjustable collar on the front. What an amazing ride those front shocks have. I'll give the spring change a go tonight as we will be out riding this weekend. What other mods have people done to improve performance on these beasts?
