maybe out of time?
or could the intake valve be not closing?
Please explain what steps you took in cleaning this carb?

Please tell me, has it ever ran right for you?

The valve clearances should be checked.
If they are good then this is a Carb issue.

You have lean running symptoms.
I would remove the pilot jet and rod it with dremel sized drill bit.(very thin)
Then reinstall it and see how it runs.
I would then make adjustments with the idle screw and fuel metering screws. See how that helps.

If after that it still shows same symptoms of needing to be choked then I would shim the needle with one shim to raise it up. This will allow more fuel and further adjustments with the screws will be necessary. You can also replace the carb with a new one and see if that helps as the replacement carb might have better settings.

raised the needle all the way up.it ran with choke open ,then was ridable for a few minutes.
still starving for fuel.carb is clean.valves are adjusted.
thinking about drilling hole bigger.mabe i should just drill into brass about 1/16 of inch deep.if it floods i can drop needle down some to close it.
what do you think?
