Default Dead in Michigan

My son has been riding his CPI chinese quad for a month now no problems. After a pit stop he went to start it and the electrical is dead (no power to starter switch, gear position illumination, etc.). I figured battery was dead. To my surprise battery is fully charged. I've got 12v at the solenoid. Checked all my connectors and they are clean and tight. Any help?

Check the main fuse.

Then check the ignition switch fro switched 12 volts.

These two items sit in the way of the battery voltage getting to lights, etc.

Also try turning on the ignition, disablng any kill switches and jump the starter solenoid with a screwdriver. Doe the starter turn? Does the quad start?

Do you need more detailed explanations on how to do this? You'll need a meter of course.

Lynn, you are the man! Initially I checked the fuse (old bus type) and it looked like I had a solid wire. After noticing a replacement in the fuse case and comparing the appearance I swapped them out.....bingo. Simple fix saved me a bunch of time with the meter. Ever think about doing a flow diagram trouble shoot? I know I'd buy one. Thanks again and have a great 4th!
