what i get out of it is dang near 13 volts at the battery, losing 4.25 volts in between the batt and starter. starter won't turn over fast/normal. i've seen batteries with a dry cell/dead cell pull off 13 volts and die when cranked on. either that, or something in the starter armature is grounding out and screwing it all up. starter bearings? huh? hmmm...

I really want to know what the problem turned out to be on this one.

2 different starters
lots of different batteries
voltage getting lost
turns over by hand

Please look and see, (just for grins), that the battery is connected correctly. Positive + to the solenoid, and Negative - to the frame. the battery is marked.

I have thought about this and I can not figure out why the engine will not turn over with the starter. It just does not make sense.

The others on here read the same things I did about your problem.

I can not see any way the stator would keep the engine from turning over.

Please read what you told us was happening..

"The Others" are just like me , just trying to help someone who ASKED for help.
