WHOA,
Here I am trying to help you to understand, and I said I wouldn't try to help again.

Forget what I just wrote.

Have a nice Day and just forget about what you wrote..meaning assume NO responsibility for what you wrote.

Actually, you are the "dumb" one for throwing so much money at the bike. It's called "shotgunning" parts. It's what inexperienced people do, Rather than ACTUALLY troubleshoot the problem. Hell, you have enough wrapped up in this bike, you could have easily bought a used one to replace it, and cut your losses. My guess is, you have "little man" complex. You're probably an entry level position holder, not vital to the company, problems with the S.O., so you come here and insult/belittle those that tried to help, so you can feel better about yourself.
You have shown the level of your maturity, by coming to a free forum, soliciting advice, then insulting everyone when the outcome is not as you wanted. All of the responses were asking you to provide more information, so they could further diagnose the problem.

I have read this thread from front to back, 2 times. Nowhere in ANY of your statements did it elude to a stator issue. From all the indications you gave, I would have guessed a dead battery, or a short to ground. Normally when a stator goes out, it fails to produce charge voltage.
These guys were great in walking thru the problem, and sure they didn't get to the stator yet, but in using the process of elimination(what us smart guys use to correctly diagnose problems) I'll bet money they would have.

Your correct response should have been:
" Hey guys, thanks for all the info, but the problem was actually the stator. Oh well, it was a learning experience, at the very minimum. I appreciate you guys helping me out, hopefully I can return the favor someday. Thanks to all, and stay safe"

Can't please everyone all the time...

keltikayla, well, we tried. sometimes it's kind of hard to fix the problems for you when we can't touch it and try things ourselves that worked for us. had we had some more detailed info, it may have gone faster, but the way you described the problems is what led us in the directions we were going. even if you're ungrateful for the help and want to bash us, i hope you learned some things that'll help you on your own troubleshooting issues in the future. especially if you're a long ways from the house or truck in the middle of nowhere with just your quad and a few tools.

good day..........

Very well said, Jaster94 .

Recently I've been working really long hours and 7 days a week. I'm barely keeping up with email and posts. I delayed responding to this until I had a chance to go back and read the whole thread over again. Criticism (be it constructive or not) is a chance to learn and improve, and I wanted to make sure that there wasn't something that I overlooked or misdiagnosed.

Having reread the posts I don't see anything that I (or anybody) misdiagnosed. I agree with Armagh and Barncat. There is *nothing* in the symptoms described by keltikayla that points toward the stator. His problem was a starter motor that wasn't turning (and dragging down a car battery ) - this (obviously) has nothing to to with the stator. I don't know where he is coming from, but sadly I don't think his experiences with his quad in the future bodes well.

I wish keltikayla well. I hope his problem is fixed and hope that he has many hours of fun on his quad.
