Akuma 110cc differential woes....help!
I picked up a 2005 "akuma" 110cc quad, bought it for $60 as the previous owner couldn't get any spark. I was able to get the problem corrected but this is where my new troubles began. The quad is the shaft drive type, there are 3 missing teeth on the main gear, I don't know the correct name of the part, but it would be the ring gear on a traditional axle. I have seen the entire replacement housings, but I am unable to locate just the gear itself, the akuma brand doesn't pull much of anything up in Google searches.
My second issue.....Is there any reason for there to be oil on the left side of the motor? The previous owner filled it with oil, this is the side with the starter gear and magneto. I drained the remaining fluid out, most of it leaked out on its own, cleaned everything well and reassembled. The chrome cap with the o ring on it as well ad the fact that the covet even has a gasket on it, could certainly be misleading. This side of the motor should be dry, correct? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
