The Arctic Cat DVX 250 is made by Kymco and is the same as the Kymco Mongoose 250. The same is true with Arctic Cat's DVX 300 (Same as the Mongoose 300). Both have fully automatic cvt transmissions. I've ridden a Mongoose 300 briefly. They seem to be fairly well built, and have decent power for the size. The CVT does tame things a bit, but they seem like they would be a fun quad for the beginner or casual rider.

Kymco's are bulletproof and just what your looking for in a quad.
A high quality Tiawanese machine with honda roots.
If I'm going to a XC type of run, I leave the 250R and 300ex home cuz the kymco is just too easy.
We love our Kymco.
FYI: Kymco gave us a machine to test in the 12 hours of ATV America. We were told to break it. Only failure was a broke tie rod and any tie rod would have broke. I really whacked a monster hole.
I ran it in 04 and 05 in the 12 hour races, After those, I raced it a a cpl national mx's, a cpl xc's and a crap load of woods riding thru the last 5 years.
I did break a axel at a MX from jumping it (no surprise) and after all the abuse mentioned, I finally took out the forward gears on a xc race.
NO, it's not a racer, just explaining what kind of abuse these Kymco's can take.
The wife loves it.
