Info on resale value of used Jetmotos
#1
Hi Guys,
With sadness, I have sold my two Jetmotos: 2007 150 and 200. They were still running great as far as China bikes go. I searched and found few posts on how selling goes on these things so I thought it would be worth posting my experience.
150
running condition - very good. This thing has always run great except for the odd thing here and there like stuck float bowl, stalling due to water shorting this or that.
Plastic was cracked a few places due to rollovers and such.
Rear tires were getting pretty worn out.
It had a few problems along the way but they were all fixed.
Battery replaced of course. New chain too.
200
Looking quite sharp. Plastic color on both still very good. Stored in garage for 3 1/2 years. No rust on either.
New battery and chain like 150.
Rear tires pretty good but probably need new ones.
So, drum roll. Oops. Sold a trailer with the quads. It was an old boat trailer I picked up for like $300 and threw some 4x8 ply. Worked SUPER for quad hauling and lots of other dump and Home Depot runs. Even loaded it full of concrete cinder blocks.
So, drum roll. Got $1600 cash for the package. Although sad to see them go, I think I got quite fair money for them. If I take the trailer out and say I got $1300, that is still far more than 50% of what I paid.
And for all the fun trips we had to Pismo beach, Sierra Nevada Forests and California OHV parks. I'd say it was a very very great experience and a big bang for the buck.
There is so much discussion and concern (certainly earned) about China quads, one thing that made life WAY WAY easier for me was that Jetmoto is a half hour drive so getting parts and service were super convenient for me. I remember one Christmas Eve and one quad was dead. Headed over there and Dmitiri was just super sorting out it was a dead key or kill switch; can't remember. This would be the single most important advice from me is to think long and hard about parts and service support.
Now - kid wants to get a 250 dirt bike. Do I dare get a China two wheeler? :-)
