Ok so here is my story. Three weeks before christmas my wife calls me at work and says hay I found this 4wheeler at a garage sale for $100.oo and sent me a pic.

well it is definatly not a looker but I thought it must be worth 75 smackers. She make the offer and the guy took it. That is when the fun began. Bought a battery the next day for 35.00 wow! Changed the oil, charged the battery, and put the battery in and crossed my fingers. Yep you guessed it. Nothing!!!
no click no light I found out later they only work when it is running. Well that is when it started to come apart--literally--

After getting the body off I found the (this is an official term because I am having a brian block and cant think of what is is called) Thingiemabobber that make the starter kick in. Shorted across the two big terminals and Life. Well at least is was turing over. so i started tracing the electrical. Having never owned or even ridden a 4wheeler I relied a bit on past experience with boats cars and trucks. I FOUND THIS WEBSITE, and started doing some research. I had power from the batt to the thingiemabobber c@@@ some one tell me what they are called!!
on the big terminals and one little wire. finally figured out that it was the remote kill that was not passing the good ole 12vs on to where it needed to be. Buy the way I the handle bar start switch. I found a wire that was broke loose inside of it. tried to soder (sp) it back together. oops got it to hot!! found a replacement. Then prceeded to spend about 6 hours trying to figure out what wire did what that was going in to the remote kill box. By the way if yours ever goes out they are freakin hard to find if it is one that does not have the ALARM feature. i still ahvent found one. I used jumper wires to get power where I needed it. Meanwhile i had bee doing a little woerk on the body.

red first

then tape

then blue
My six year old picked out the colors and told me how he wanted it painted.

I finished the paint about a week before christmas. I thought I had my electrical issues fixed. and tried to start it with the thunb switch. That is when i figured out that I melted the dang thing. so I was able to check for spark good. Plug BADDD
. still had the chinese plug in it!!! Bought a new plug put it in. same thing. checke the spark and now now spark WHAT!!!! NNNOOOOO. Finally figure out that I had some help working on it while I was at work. one of my jumper wires wer in the wrong slot. Finally got spark. neanenaneaena puttt putt and that is it. Ok so that must mean carb right. Man was I right. it looke like some one had made a batch of rusty jello in the carb. blew out the jets checked the float needle and float, and put it back together. This is at 4:00 am christmas day. Guess what sucess. it fired right off. I have since cleaned the carb three more times. We finally got all the pieces put back on a couple of days after christmas.

The trampoline in the back ground was what bouth of them insisted on having for christmas. They have been on it a total of 6 times. for some reason the four wheeler trumped the trampoline.
ok
ok
I am getting to my question that I need your help with.

the only number that I can find on this thing any where is on the block just below the stator.
it is JFY152FMH06107601
SEVENTEEN digits check
jfy made in japan
tenth digit =Year code.
If you have ever researched vins for chinese atvs you know that the numbers should be 1-9 and a-I with no 0s. (it is a zero by the way)
Can any one tell me the yare of manufacture?
Second Question
The guy I bought it form said he bought the upgrad to a 50cc. Should a 50cc be able to pull a wheelie? I am leaning toward he bought the upgrade to the 90 or 110.
Is there any way short of pulling the head off and micing the cylinder to figure out what engine is in this thing?

Hi,
I think you got a good price on it.
It looks just like the one I bought.
After I looked and looked, I found out mine was a Sunl. It is a 90cc. engine. It was made in China. You will see numbers that will make you think it is a 110 cc. , but it's not. I am guessing that it is a single speed with an automatic clutch.
The thing you keep talking about is called a solenoid. The bike has a safety switch on the brake lever to prevent from starting without the brake on. It has a safety switch,(tether), under the back part of the seat that you tie on to the kid to stop it if they fall off.
It has a limiter on the throttle to adjust the amount of fuel it gets. They are fast without the limiter.
You have pretty kids.. Keep them safe on the 4 wheeler.
The same engine may be used on other bikes with different names. OR the same bike with a different name... Keep them babies safe!

Thanks for the complliments on the chitlens. yeah I know it is a solenoid. i was kindof trying to be funny. Probably made me look like an idiot instead.
the boy is the one that rides it. Yes I keep it turned down. He fliped it the first time he rode it. thus the crack on the back fender you can see in the pic if you look hard enough. every once in a while I will run the throtle screw all the way in and let the little girl ride--she thinks it is a blast and wants to know when she is getting hers.
you are correct it is a single speed auto no reverse.
I also have a loncin 110 3 speed w reverse and it seems not to have half the power the mini does. But then again it is twice as big.
we went trail riding yesterday, and with the execption of the 2" ground clearance. Seemed like he got stuck on just about every rock we passed. His did every thing mine did accept break the chain and get a hole in the tire.
