I bought one on craigslist. It's missing the ignition cylinder, cdi and the coil is damaged. It sat under someone's porch for a couple of years.

Ive looked on ebay and there are no parts for it. Can I interchange any cdi, coil from another china quad? Also does anyone have a wiring diagram for it?

Also is disabling the oil injection as simple as blocking off the oil tube going to the carb?

I've got a monsoon 90 same thing! That thread has a link to wiring diagram and full parts list and breakdown diagrams. Also how I wired generic cdi in.

These quads are kinda oddball but parts are out there. The engine is the same as a 90cc Yamaha jog. And it was also used on a polaris youth model.




This is how to wire in a generic 5-pin china CDI and coil:






Using the above picture i wired the cdi to the stator harness as follows

(on atv) Black with Red stripe / AC Power (on cdi)

(on atv) White with red stripe / Trigger (on cdi)

(on atv) Ground / Ground (on cdi)

(on atv) Orange / Coil (on cdi) (here i reused the mounting point and wire running to the factory coil (orange wire)

I then wired a toggle switch from ground to the kill switch prong on cdi to turn the quad off.


This is the CDI module i used:

Wow you guys are helpful. I didnt check the thread(should have) I ordered the 6pin cdi but it has 2 grounds so its really only 5. tracking says the coil should come today. I'm going to have to make half of the wiring myself, but the diagram should help. Only question:
how do I wire up the electric choke? Is it just wired to be on when ignition is on?

Make absolute sure you're cdi is for a 2/stroke
! A 4 stroke cdi will idle but won't rev up right. Search eBay for "jog cdi" you can get a high performance unit for $20 shipped and the generic China coil will work with it.

You used that cdi and it worked fine?

 

You need to read further down the thread where we found out that that CDI will *not* work. That 5 pin CDI is a four stroke CDI and will not work on a 2 stroke. It starts up and idles, but will not rev up. You need to buy a 2 stroke CDI like the one in Jacob_royers's link.

The ignition timing is way different for a two stroke versus a 4 stroke.

BTW, the 2 connector 6 pin CDI you bought is the same internally as the 5 pin CDI above except for the connectors.
