Taotao 125 3rd Gear only Quads?

Are the Taotao 125 (ATA125A) only setup for 3rd gear. I cant feel it shifting at all.

If there isn't any gear shifter it's a single speed gas and go. My kid's Taotao 110D is single speed. It just feels like permanent 2nd gear, maybe slightly taller. The engine is screaming at ~20mph. Some of the 125's are this way, some are single speed with a hand lever reverse, some are 3spd auto clutch.

The 150cc are a true CVT like a scooter.
