Hi Guy's Got to work on it some to day hooked up the harness and left the black wire on the key switch unhooked and no draw on the system all the conection were hook up. Still have some wires not hooked up but they may not be used on tail light or head lights and will not trun over may be bad battery no power to coil yet. There may have be switch got it they not used the wireing digram Still working on it betwen other jobs

That black wire is probably switched battery power, and you will need that hooked up to use the start button to engage the starter. You will have to have a working brake switch as well (in other words the brake light must light up).
So you may have a bad battery? Maybe that's why you haven't started a fire yet. Please don't jump your quad battery to your car while you still have a short somewhere. You're not blowing fuses with 27 amps. That says your fuse circuitry is bypassed (which is dangerous BTW). If you connect up your car battery that could rise to 150 amps or more. Instant fire, and instant scrap wiring harness, will be the result (if you're lucky).
What's the story with your fuse? Do you have one?
When you get around to hooking back up the black wire the try unplugging the voltage regulator and see if the current stops.
