Kazuma 50cc brake cable

Kazuma 50cc brake cable
My son must have been riding the brakes on his Kazuma 50cc and the plastic around the cable was completely burnt and melted to nothing and now the brakes don't work at all. Has anyone had to change the brake cable or brakes on a Kazuma 50cc fourwheeler? If so any advice on how to do it or know where there are videos that show how to do it? Thanks
