Is anyone here still active? I seem to be having the same problem with no spark, traced it back to the CDI and thats as far as I've gotten.
I metered out the pins connected to the CDI, When the kill switch is on i get 12V to the B/W wire, as shown in the diagram 1 post above me, however when i click the start button, i don't get any response on any of the other pins (starter itself does turn over fyi), shouldn't the start button be sending some sort of signal to the CDI to tell the spark plugs to fire?

You shouldn't get any pos to the kill wire unless it is a DC ignition system and then you would get pos with ignition on and kill switch set to run. Those on this thread seem to be AC CDI. It is difficult to get the right CDI as most are for single cylinder machines and Honda themselves fitted several different ignition systems to the twin. Reading the above posts will lead to much confusion, and you need to be well versed in how normal CDIs work to be able to work out the twin's set up. One of the few bikes to beat me was one with that 250 twin Honda clone. I ended up fitting Kawasaki KLF300 non CDI DC ignition (same as a 1980s car) with a twin plug lead 12v coil for a 1980s Honda twin. However abandoned the project when I couldn't get the strange shaped plug caps that engine needs. No idea if the spark timing would have been anywhere near right anyway.

What I intended to say is with the ignition on and the k/s set to run I get 12v on the b/w, so by your post I have a DC cdi, however I also have a lifan250cc so maybe there is some more messed up wiring I need to fix,

My guess would be someone has wired the ignition switch up wrong. This could have blown the CDI if it was fed 12v pos on the kill lead. Alternatively it could be a DC CDI set up, but there wouldn't be a red/black going to the stator if it was a factory DC system.
