Default Quick question about side cover

I need to remove my side cover on my Lifan 250cc (honda rebel copy) so that I can clean the edge where the timing marks are. there appears to be some build up on it and I cannot see the marks. I got the bolts out but it still feels like sonething is holding it. Is it a case of where it may just be stuck and I need to tap on it with a rubber mallet? Just tring to be carefull.

Peace!

Usually the covers are located on dowels.. a tap with a mallet usually loosens them up..
