Default help with valve adjustment

I have a kazuma 250cc, with a cn250 engine. I set the cylinder tdc, by putting a straw in the spark plug hole.

I lossen the adj nuts and when moving the intake/exhaust setting or dial there is equal/moderate tension when moving it all the way left or right. Am I missing something?

I thought tension would increase as the valve closes and then you back it off a little.

Thanks,
Jason

got it running perfect. Tried again on the valves and nailed it.

Stuggled with low end problems prior to valve adjustement. Thought it was the carb/jetting issue and it was really a valve problem. Now it runs smooth.

Time to go riding.

Id guess you had the wrong TDC the first time.. There are 2 on a 4 stroke and you need the one after the exhaust valve closes..

Glad to hear you got it running.
