Eton 70 2 stroke not running (firing / starting)
#1
Hello,
I have a 2 stroke 70 Eton that was running fine one day, then lost power and now will not fire. It cranks over fine, changed the plug and will not fire or start. I have no idea what to check first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jedi

im not sure about 2 strokes or your model but i do know about engines in general. i would check if you have spark. you just take out the spark plug, connect it to the cdi unit and place tip on the metal of the engine, you crank the quad and see it you have spark. you could also check the pressure of the cylinder (i dont have the details about that but heard it being done. i presume there is a device that screws into the spark plug hole, then you rotate the engine to the power stroke and read the pressure.) make sure the its getting petrol and air. also ensure there is a good bit of petrol in the tank because it makes it easier for it to be pushed out of the carb. make sure air filter isnt filthy or take it off until you get it running. if you still cant find the problem try getting a bottle of "easy start", spray it into the air filter while cranking it and it might start.
try that and tell me how you get on.
