yerf dog #23000 no fire(new member) help?
#1
i bought a yerf dog 23000 90cc atv yesterday not sure what year it looks pre-2000 but i dont know. the previous owner said all it needed was a C.D.I. well i know nothing about this brand. their is no fire so i replaced the spark plug, coil, cleaned the magneto and even traced the wiring down and checked to make sure everything was connected. above the magneto case on the left side facing the atv their are four connectors not connected and no were to connect them they are as follows
a square 2 pin connector with the wire colors: black and orange the wires come from the coil i believe.
a round 1 wire connector with the color:black with white stripe the wire comes from the kill switch i think.
a round 1 wire connector with the color:white with red stripe the wire comes from the magneto case.i think this is the trigger on the cdi
a round 1 wire connector with the color:black with red stripe it also comes from the magneto case. i think this is the power on the cdi
i havent found the cdi i really dont even know what it looks like i think it may have been removed before i bought it after lots of research most of the wires descride should be connected to the cdi but idk. and if so were do i get a cdi that would work for this model
so any info on this would be of great help thank you.

Is this is a two stroke quad?
I'm not very familiar with two stroke quads, nor have a seen a wiring diagram for a yerf dog quad. I recall a long series of threads about installing a commonly available 4 stroke CDI to replace a hard to find 2 stroke quad CDI. It was a complete failure (which seems so obvious in retrospect), but at the time it seemed a worthwhile experiment.
In any case there is a lot of info in the threads (and in the links within the threads). Here they are:
http://forums.atvconnection.com/chin...-90cc-atv.html
http://forums.atvconnection.com/chin...bogs-down.html
If I recall correctly there are some posts in the links within the links that equate the monsoon 90cc and the yerfdog 90cc quads. I didn't reread the whole thread (and all the links within) so I'm not completely sure.
So on the pins/connectors you described in your post, what is the resistance of each of them to ground? That info will help determine if your hypothesis for each wire is correct. Then we can measure cranking voltages to double confirm, and verify that these all connect to to the CDI. Then we can try to see if there are any compatible 2 stroke CDI's out there...
