Are you going to experiment with the other carb yet? Happy you have the quad running better. The top end should improve with a bigger jet. I will be finding that out shortly myself.

Any information with the drill sizes with the pilot jet will be greatly appreciated!

eventually I will play with the new carb - I really like the idea of just being able to head to the nearest cycle shop to get jets and needles and being able to adjust things without having to drill.. assuming I am able to get it running right, that is worth the price of the carb to me (I didnt get the manifold, just the $74 carb)

but right now I am at a standstill untill I get the cam cover figured out.. it is proving to be more dificult than I thought

the people at tao tao have no idea what i am talking about.. apparently it is a requirement to have never even seen an engine to work in their tech department.. they are shipping me a new one, but based on the conversation I had, I dont have much faith that it will fit

from my internet research there are only 2 size cam covers for these motors, big and small. I need the smaller size and I guess it is more rare because everyone has the big ones, no one has the small one.

I may end up having to make my own..

How fluent was their Engrish!! LOL
As soon as my bits come in, I will get the information out. Knowing whst main jet is also excitimg.
And, now I want to revisit the instructions for checking timing.

Youngnbald, how long till your jets come in? Drill bits are about 4 days out.

I was dealing with their local distributer, eagle atv, which is in Dallas TX.. I am in Austin (3 hours south of Dallas), so I get parts in 1 day, so that is nice..

I just looked up the tracking number and found they were delivered today. Here is what I ordered....

First time buying from JetRus or whoever I used (link was in previous post). I work lots of OT and busy at work now. I may not get to work on the quad until Monday. I want to look up information on that needle stamped with K60.
My main jets to experiment with will be 65, 68, 70, 72. This will be handy to have come winter driving also! My dirt bike needs a different jet every 20 degree change. World of power difference when done right in that 450R. It is accurate to look at the temp and jet accordingly! Fine tune with fuel screw. I hope I get these quads dialed like this too.

Yes you do have a hand full of jets to play with. If I had to change jets for every 20 deg temp change I would go nuts. But then again if you want the best performance, you got to do what you got to do.

After cleaning the pilot jet, there was one thing I forgot to mention. The little 125 fires right up, and drops straight into a perfect idle. For a while there I did not really realize it was hard to start.
And when it did start I had to feather the throttle untill it warmed up. Not any more.

Changing the jet in the dirt bike is easy. I have three jets that go from 40-60 degrees, 60-80, and 80-100 degrees. It is pretty easy to deal with and gives maximum power. My quads are not sensitive but should be changed with winter driving. I would bet I run lean in the winter without changing a jet. The dirt bike will back fire and show signs of lean conditions. Can't hurt to test different ones and see how this goes.

lol, all of our parts got in.. my cam cover just arived, and its correct..
yeah! maybe I can get my new carb in this weekend..

I noticed there are a couple things I will need to figure out.. the fuel barb on the mikuni is much larger than the line on the quad.. no way I will get the small line over it.. I hope I can just zip tie a bigger line under the tank

also the carb is physically much bigger.. I hope it fits

Out of the micro drill bits, I used the smallest. It was the #80. It was not hard to drill by hand at all. So it was just barley larger than the original jet size. Let me tell you, this bit is small.

WOW!

Amazing the differance in torque. I could accelerate more aggesivley. After getting used to the new throttle curve, I started to break loose tje back tires in the grass uphill...! Now mind you I weigh 245, bit guess what I went for next, ,,, yep, a wheely. It took a little work on my part, I got the front wheels off the ground. With just a few minutes practice, I was able to ride a sustainable wheeley.

Now, I meed to learn how to post video so you can see I am not talking out the other end.

I just might tear it down again, and go one size larger??? I'm verry happy right now.
