Dinli helix tether kill
#3
First off I know nothing about Dinli's. GMTCCPowerSports may well be right in his post where you most cross the two wires in the harness after you unplug the tether wires to enable spark. Etons are certainly that way - and I think both Dinli's and Eton's are taiwanese buily quads.
But I'm worried that some may try to apply this fix to the more generic chinese quad after coming here down the line via search engines. Most mainland built chinese are exactly the opposite. To disable the tether you unplug the electrical connector at the wiring harness and leave the wires alone. If you short those two wires in the harness together you will *kill* spark.
Perhaps though we are making this too complicated. A tether switch has two wires. Those two wires are shorted in one condition (tether cord pulled, or not pulled), and not shorted the opposite condition.
With only two possiblilities it is easy to test. Take your working quad and unplug the wires from the harness going to the tether assembly. Try to start the quad. Do you get spark? If not short the wires. Those are the only two possibilities...
