Default QLink 700cc

Similar version sold under the "Discovery" name. Approx 700cc, Electronic 4 wheel drive, adjustable shocks, winch, digital dash, you name it, this thing has all the bells and whistles. Mine has 70 miles on it. Here product information:

http://www.qlinkmotor.com/uploaded/e...700-101103.pdf

The engine was overheating, and the previous owner took it to the place of purchase. The invoice said they replaced the coolant reservoir (I suspect this was the cause of the overheating) and head gaskets and cylinder. He brought it home and didn't ride it and when he did it was still overheating. I took it for a spin and it drove perfect for 15 minutes then it ran hot. It had milky oil and coolant. I suspect the shop did not fix this bike correctly the first time. I ordered a new cylinder base and head gasket and I will be thoroughly inspecting the head and entire cooling system for other issues. I have no idea how tight to torque the head back down during reassembly. Does anyone have any info on these bikes??? They seem pretty well built from looking at the undercarriage.

i don't have any torque specs. BUT, one thing i would check is the water pump. is it gear driven? i suspect it may or may not have a faulty O-ring on it if it even has one. i had a talon quad's water pump O-ring fail on me and it turned the oil to milk.

Wonder what is the best way to determine if the waterpump seal is faulty or if it is the HG?

depends on how/where your water pump is connected. mine shared a tranny gear and was separated from the water side by an O-Ring. i would hope and pray you didn't have a cracked head water jacket leak. i hope it's something simple for you. . i've just had horrible luck with a water cooled quad. so i rid myself of that problem.

The whole cooling system is trashed. There is yellow muck pouring out of every orifice. I'm putting a new water pump of it. It has an o-ring seal for external oil leaks, and a stamped gasket for external water leaks. I cannot see the internal oil/water seal with the impeller on. It is driven off the crank.

Bearings look great so far, the crankcase was filled up with goo though. I'm gonna have to scrub every square inch of the entire cooling system.

surely there's a flush to use. i don't know if a diesel flush is the way to go or not. i reckon you're gonna tear down the engine?

Cylinder, cylinder head, water pump, cooling system and all related items are dismantled. Took about 4 hours for the above teardown.

I took the water pump completely apart. There is water/oil muck on each side of the shaft seals (2) but when pulled apart the center of the pump looks clean. It really appears that the pump seal is intact. There is a small section in the pump housing that is protected on both ends by seals. If one would have failed then it should have goo all the way through it. Weep hole was free from debris also. I'm starting to get stumped as I've seen no obvious problems.
