Jianshe JS250 Problem
#1
I have a 2003 Jianshe JS250 "Mountain Lion" ATV.
I used it heavily one day to haul tree debris on a trailer. No clutch slippage noted. The next day I went out to ride it and it was now stuck in 1st gear.
The shift lever has no spring return, it just moves up and down and stays where I move it to. Lifting it up is like pulling in the clutch and pushing it down engages the clutch.
It does change from forward to reverse with little problem, it has always been a bit tough to shift though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i'll send you some microfiche for that quad so we can look through there together and figure out what's happening or not happening.
check your PMs.
look at the torsion spring and the return spring for the shifter. that could be the suspect.
