2012 Taotao ata-125-d
#1
Just bought a new Taotao. Was wondering if anyone knows what all the buttons on the remote do? The big headlight is crappy looking but has place to put headlights in the front. Anyone do this and if so how?

Send me an email address by *private message* (don't post your email address publicly or you will be hounded by spam). I have a manual (I'm pretty sure) that describes the remote operation.
Be carefull with adding lights. They consume power, and you need to make sure that any new lights won't exceed the capacity of your stator to run them. If your stator cannot keep up on average over an average trip, the excess power needed to run the lights will come out of the battery. It is very possible to load your quad to the point where the battery fails to keep charged and drains your battery dead while the engine is running and going down the trail...
This won't hurt anything on your quad other than your battery is dead and your miles out there at night...

that space is there because they share plastics with other brands to keep costs down. the coolster 3050 and 3125 are basically the same and have the small headlights in the front, so you can buy them from coolster for ~$50
they sell them here
Maxtrade: coolster.com : home of atv, motorcycle, dirtbike, gokart, helmet of scooter
but the wiring harness may be different, so you may have to splice them in..
I thought about doing it for looks when I got my taotao, but decided it wasnt worth messing with.. my guess is the big single works better than 2 small lights mounted low, and my inner fenders are always getting covered with mud and I'm not sure that they would last that long there

The dealer told me that the company is phasing out the lights because they are trying to discourage night time riding. So it looked like my model can support the lights in the front I just don't know what kind to get. I've seen some #75 off a site and they looked like the ones to use. I don't know. There is a harness plug that isn't being used underneath. I just can't stand the look of the big spot light thing. This is for my son anyways not me. Also, this thing is brand new and the handle bar brake is very hard to pull. He has trouble pulling it in. Can I adjust this?

it is adjustable but if you loosen it it wont brake as well.. I have the same problem on mine.. my son is 10 and when I adjust it to where it stops right he can't use it, so I loosen it up and he has to be careful breaking
if you follow the cables from the handle the adjusters are like 12" down, there is 1 for the right and 1 for the left

So what do they look like. I see springs down there but I have no clue what to do. Does it loosen the handle so he can pull it better and lessen the stopping power? I'm glad it has a foot break. That works great. So far a nice little atv. I had a 05 Polaris sportsman 90 for him. Paid 900 and it looked brand new. Had it 2 weeks and it started having starting issues. Also hated the 2 stroke and smoke. I know I when down in quality with a Chinese atv but at least it starts an he only rides in the grass in the yard no mud water and will be kept garaged from day 1. Should serve it purpose until hes ready for a good one.

no, it is a threaded turnbuckle sort of thing with lock nuts where you can turn it one way and it tighten it and you turn it the other way to loosen it
usually there are little rubber boots over the lock nuts
you are just changng the length of the cable.. it really shouldnt be far from the brake lever, it should be before the cable goes into the shroud and there are 2, one for left and one for right
