I actually did a valve adjustment today, it does run better . However it is still hard to start but I think its do to my carb flooding. A rebuild kit is on order.

Can you take the carb apart on yours? Seems like the newer ones are sealed.

Plus, I believe these carbs are really leaned out, smaller jets, to help them pass EPA or CARB emission tests - whatever they call that. I know my son's little taotao 125 buggy needs some throttle to get it to start. Once she's running, though, it idles nice and smoothly throttles up. Odd thing is that my plug is almost black. Try to figure that one out. I did go to a UNI filter cause those stock ones look more like a spaghetti strainer.

I actually went with a uni filter also, and I could only get it to run by adjusting the a/f screw all the way on. It runs well adjusted like that, however my plug is black also. My carb is an older style carb.

Well im still having trouble with my clutch. I adjusted it so the wheels werent spiing while it was on the ground. However, now it wont engage so I can rev it all i want without it going anywhere. There doesnt seem to be a happy medium in the adjustment.

Maybe it's time to take that side case off and get a look at the clutch. I'm not at all familiar with the wet clutches, but sounds like something ain't right there.

Well I took the side off and pulled the clutch. Nothing looks worn or stripped either on the engine or the clutch. I ordered new plates anyway incase they are worn out enough.
