06 jianshe 400 no spark somtimes

OK so the seven wire three plug CD pictured above is for the jianshe 250. The 400 has a five wire cdi. Mike could you tell me what the numbers on your CDi are. It should start with JS or JT then some numbers.

Ok Lynn I am back from work! I did that test with the red and blue and green and white! I saw on my meter .2 ac volts and nothing on the orange to ground! I used the ground on the battery, I dunno I that makes a difference or not

0.2 VAC is probably OK based on how other CDIs that I am familiar with work.

So you have power going to the CDI, you're getting a trigger signal (the 0.2 vac), and you not getting any voltage out. So that points to a bad CDI.

Ok! I am goin to look on eBay for a Cdi does it have to be exactly the same as the one I took off? I see some on there off of Chinese bikes that are 5 pin an look the same physically but not for my bike will these work?

I just purchased a new cdi same as yours. Try
chinesemoto parts or kazumausaonline or chinesemoto partswholesale.com they run anywhere from $68-99. Ebay I only found them for about $159-249.
Mine started right up

Don't waste your money on trying a different five pin. The shop I bought my motor from tried using three differnt five pins and fried all three trying to save money and not buy me a new one..

I bought one that is for it from chinesemotoparts that was only 68 but I had to spend a hundred in order to checkout but oh well I will hopefully have a good quad after for only 600 buck!
