dont even know where to start????
Recently i was given a 2008 110 tao tao and was told they couldn't figure it out. The previous owner supposedly hooked the battery up backwards and tried to start it. He blew the fuse and ended up melting the positive wire. I replaced the fuse and the four wheeler wont do nothing. Any help would be very much appreciated it has a 5 pin cdi if that's helps. Where should i start. thanx for any info. in advance.

There is an oxymoron in the statement the previous owner gave you:
He hooked up the battery backwards and blew the fuse *AND* melted the positive wire. These couldn't have happened simultaneously since the fuse is 7 amps, and seven amps cannot melt an 18 gauge wire. More likely he blew the fuse, then shorted across the fuse terminals just to see what would happen. Now we know....
So when you say it won't do anything I assume that means the starter motor doesn't turn. But do your headlights work (ignition on)? When you turn the ignition and apply the brakes does the brake light come on?
Have you tried jumping across the solenoid? Here is the generic procedure:
First, make sure the quad is in neutral, and the parking brakes are firmly set. You are about to attempt to crank the starter motor unconditionally - bypassing all safety interlocks. If the quad should start up you want to be sure is stays put.
Find the postive battery terminal, and follow the big fat red wire to the starter solonoid screw terminal. Follow the other starter solenoid screw terminal to the starter motor.
Now take a screwdriver and use the shank to short those two screw posts on the starter solenoid together. Some sparking is OK.
Does the starter motor turn?
