Default loncin 70cc trans question

I am working on a loncin 70cc auto trans atv. The front sprocket will only turn after slightly tapping it. Once it starts turning it makes an awful noise and then will stop turning intermittently.

1. Is there fluid in the trans and can i drain it/refill it?

2. Can just the trans be replaced? If so is there a diy somewhere where it has been done?

Ive been searching this forum/internet for about a week now and i cannot find much info on my specific question.

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

yes the tranny has oil in it that you can drain/refill. sounds like you got a small bearing failure happening. when you drain the oil, look at the drain plug to see if it is magnetized and look for metal shavings. look the used oil over for the metal shavings. you may or may not find any. those small bearings are noo very expensive to replace if you feel like tackling the repair. OR, you can just order a new tranny for that specific model from a parts dealer or manufacturer and it will unbolt and bolt right back up. the install would be self evident/explanatory is it is just bolts and manhandling the gearbox out of the chassis.

anyone have a better idea outside of buying a new motor? I called this company;
Loncin Parts for Loncin Engine Powered ATVs & Dirt-Bikes - Chinese Engines - $139 SPECIAL 70cc Engine Complete - Full Auto - No Reverse
One thing about the company that ive noticed is that they run multiple website names. I called them and they individual that answered the phone acted as if i was bothering him and stated they had no 70cc only 90cc motors and it would be 340.00 shipped.

On craigslist i can almost get an entire other atv for that price.

Im open for suggestions because i am all out of ideas.
