OK so its not exactly an atv lol but i have a 110cc 4 spd honda e22 clone engine off a atv on my mini chopper and lately its been screwing up.
it jammes up between second gear and third.
i then open the right side case n manually move the squirrel cage apparatus back to second gear while turning the transmission input shaft and its good to go again.
well that isnt working anymore now to get it from second to third the input shaft for trans has to be rotated in reverse of normal operation to successfully shift it to third with some effort n resistance.(this is impossible to do so while operating the engine)

when it does jam up i can get it to barely work in second by pulling up on the shifter to limp it home but it jumps in and out of gear.

im not sure what is wrong or why it does this. if i could get my hands on an exploded view of the engine (showing how the transmission n crank case goes together n apart then i would be more willing to tear into the trans.
ive had bad experiences before with taking small engines/trans apart n not knowing where parts go when they fall out so im avoiding having to do so till i have more information.


has anyones 110cc e22/e22clone/lifan/loncin/bmx engines had this problem?
either way if i can get my hands on a pdf repair manual id gladly do a pic by pic repair of this engine.

i have years of mechanical background in vintage trail and street bikes n atvs. but this is my first e22 ive never dealt with something so small lol

 

No one has had a problem with these e22s getting stuck between gears?

Hey bud. Really liked the suggestion you gave me about changing the springs out of the old clutch to the new one! Chopper looks sweet. As I have no real mechanical degrees, I am a DIY guy ! I am quick to take apart the engine an clutch.... but the gearing is out of my comfort level. So can not wait for you to post that tutorial!

 

well so far looks like ill be tearing into this thing blind.
i dont feel like waiting on shipping for a $40+ book lol

i know my way around these e22s externally i just havent split the case on one yet. so im not 100% on how it all comes apart internally
